Conference on the Representation Theory of p-adic groups
Accommodation information

Many conference guests and speakers will be staying at:

  • The Bedford Hotel, Southampton Row, London WC1B 4HD. (Tel: + 44 (0) 20 7636 7822)

It is approximately 10-15 minutes' walk from King's College. Single rooms are £72.

The most convenient hotel to stay at (just 2-3 minutes' walk from King's) is probably

  • The Strand Palace Hotel, 372 Strand, London WC2R 0JJ. (Tel: +44(0)20 7584 6454)

If you call and mention King's College then a standard single room will be £88, though there may be limited availability; a club single room will be £108. You may be able to get the same room cheaper by using a cheap hotels website.

Other possible hotels are the following (the rates given in brackets are the King's discounted rates - mention King's when you book - but, as above, you may find cheaper by booking online):

  • The Goodenough Club, 23 Mecklenburgh Square, London WC1N 2AD (Tel: +44(0)20 7837 8831). A 15-20 minute walk from King's (single £90, double £125).
  • The Mad Hatter Hotel, 3-7 Stamford Street, London SE1&nbp;9NY (Tel: +44(0)20 7401 9222). Just across Waterloo Bridge - about 15 minutes' walk (single £99.50).
  • The Cresent Hotel, 49-50 Cartwright Gardens, London WC1H 9EL (Tel: +44(0)20 7387 1515). About 20 minutes' walk (single £72.90).
  • Imperial Hotels, who are the parent company of the Bedford Hotel (above), have a number of other hotels in the area also (including some which are cheaper but with shared facilities). They are all 10-25 minutes' walk from King's.

For French participants, one possibility was the Maison de l'Institut de France à Londres, but they have no more rooms for the 5,6,7 June (there were still some for 8 June last time I asked). The easiest access from there to King's is by the District Line of the underground, direct from South Kensington to Temple.
