I am a Lecturer in Pure Mathematics, working in the School of Mathematics of the University of East Anglia.

In algebra I work in group and semigroup theory. I am particularly interested in the study of finiteness conditions and their closure properties, including conditions that arise from the study of semigroup presentations and the related theory of string rewriting systems.

I also work in (mainly infinite) combinatorics where I am interested in groups acting on graphs and other relational structures, and homogeneous structures in the model-theoretic sense.
